Chapter 80: The Recording

There were decisions that announced themselves and decisions that waited until every escape had closed.

Helena recovers the unedited recording from the debris. It clears Claire and captures Victor ordering the sabotage.

Claire understood that the next choice would be remembered long after the explanation. Nothing between them was simple now. Attraction lived beside anger; tenderness stood beside evidence. Every kind act raised the same dangerous question: was this change, or merely fear wearing a better suit?

Claire decides to release it publicly rather than bargain with fear.

"My name does not need to be spotless. It needs to be mine."

The moment did not repair what came before. It did, however, alter what might come after.

The release reveals an unknown woman warning Victor that Claire was getting too close.
