Chapter 4: If you lose, win it back
By Mason Vale · 1619 words
"You feed me the basin I just rinsed to prepare for washing vegetables, but you pee in it. What are your bad intentions?" Ethan Yi was very unhappy.
The vibe was all confidence on the outside and panic notifications under the lock screen.
After peeing, Kai Wei put up his pants with satisfaction: "Hey, you use the basin you pee in to wash vegetables and serve rice. When you eat, isn't it the same as me eating your urine? I am mentally unbalanced and I have to get it back. Now you have eaten my urine."
"Holy shit" Ethan Yi made a contemptuous gesture and rinsed another basin.
Early the next morning, Ethan Yi hurriedly washed up and rode the electric car to work, while Kai Wei followed the designated route to the interview.
The location of the company is pretty good. It is located in the center of Dongpu District, in an office building with dozens of floors. The company Kai Wei wants to interview, called Zhengyangtong Steel Pipe Sales Co., Ltd., is on the 11th floor.
After getting out of the elevator, he felt very comfortable in the spacious, clean and bright office building. It was much better than the rental house in Ethan Yi, he thought.
"Who are you looking for?" the girl at the front desk called Kai Wei.
Seeing that the other party had a bad attitude, Kai Wei didn't give the other party a good look: "For the interview." After that, he looked carefully at the face of the girl at the front desk. He couldn't tell whether she looked good or bad. Why couldn't he tell because she wore heavy makeup, the powder on her face was thicker than the putty on the wall, and her lips were smeared as if she had suffered internal injuries and vomited blood.
"Wait a minute." The front desk picked up a piece of paper on the table and said, "Come here."
Kai Wei walked over and saw that it was a blank form.
"Fill in your resume first"
“Isn’t it already sent to you online?”
"If you want to be interviewed, just fill it out." The receptionist put aside the sentence and went to play with her phone.
After filling it out, there was an indifferent "Go over there" from the front desk. Kai Wei took a deep breath and walked into the human resources department.
There are three people in the human resources department, three women. One of them, a slightly more mature woman who looked like a leader, called Kai Wei into the conference room.
Kai Wei looked at the female leader from behind, with a slim figure and a height of nearly 1.7 meters. Under the formal work attire, the way she walks is even more sassy, a typical image of a strong woman. After sitting down, look at the front. What a delicate face. If you look like you want to commit a crime from the back, then if you look at it from the front, you will even want to commit a crime.
"Why didn't you graduate?" the female leader asked.
Kai Wei expected that the other party would ask this first, "Ahem." Kai Wei cleared his throat, took a deep breath, gained confidence, adjusted his posture, and impassionedly said the lines he had prepared in advance: "I think academic qualifications are not important, ability is more important, and time is more important. I am already twenty-one years old. Hanging around in school will make me lose my fighting spirit. Society is a bigger school than school, and it can temper people better. So, I dropped out of school and came out early to adapt to society." Kai Wei's eloquence is really average, and he doesn't speak many gorgeous words. It's not easy to say this in one breath.
The female manager glanced at Kai Wei and said, "Our accounting position requires work experience. Our distribution branch is short of a cashier with a salary of 1,250. Only after he has done it can he become an accountant. Do you want to do it?"
"Do it, do it, do it," Kai Wei said three times in a row, almost applauding, thinking in his mind: I found a job so smoothly just after I left school. It seems that ability is really more important than academic qualifications. Am I really capable?
"Go to the company tomorrow" and then the female manager signed Kai Wei's resume.
Kai Wei's eyes were sharp and he saw clearly the name of the female manager: Chloe Chang.
"The eighth branch you are going to is in Shanbao District. I will ask the front desk to give you the detailed address of the company later. I will go to work at eight o'clock. Don't be late if you go tomorrow."
It turns out it's not here. Kai Wei felt a little disappointed.
After Kai Wei got the branch address given by the front desk, he realized why he was admitted so easily, because the "current address" on his resume was Wuhao Village, Shanbao District, and the eighth branch was located one kilometer west of Wuhao Village.
Kai Wei was not disappointed. After all, the company's address was very close to the rental house.
Walking out of the building, Kai Wei took a deep breath and looked at the towering buildings and intricate overpasses, full of infinite longing for the future.
The phone rang. It was a private message. Kai Wei opened it and saw an unfamiliar number, "Are you free this afternoon?"
"Who is this?" Kai Wei said to himself. Suddenly, he remembered something and hurriedly took out an electronic LinkedIn QR card from his pocket and matched the phone number. Sure enough, it was her, the girl he met by chance on the high-speed rail. Only then did he take a closer look at the electronic LinkedIn QR card. It turned out that Tai Mei's name was Xiao Xiang. Such an elegant name, so incompatible with her work
No, why does she have my phone number?
Kai Wei secretly despised pedicure work, so he didn't want to talk to her or see her. So I called him directly: "Where did you find my phone number?"
"Our unit also registered online on the Talent Network. I went on it and flipped through my resume, and saw a resume with your photo on it, so I dialed the number on it."
"That's it." Kai Wei did post a photo on his resume.
"Are you free?"
"Oh, I just found a job and I have to go to work in the afternoon. If I have a chance, I'll treat you to it."
Just like that, Kai Wei hung up the phone call from Tai Mei.
After finding a job, Kai Wei was in a good mood, just like Ethan Yi yesterday, he bought two bottles of liquor, two bottles of beer, a pound of mutton, and a few vegetables to celebrate with Ethan Yi.
He was ready before five o'clock and waited for Ethan Yi to come back to start cooking. Who knows, by five-thirty, Ethan Yi still hadn't come back.
Kai Wei was a little worried and called the other party. After the call was answered, Kai Wei felt relieved.
"What's going on? Are you working overtime?" Kai Wei asked.
"Damn it, I just lost 3,000 yuan and I'll go back when I win back my capital." After that, he hung up the phone.
Kai Wei was worried and called again. It took a while before he got through.
"Where are you"
"If you're not interested in the game arcade, come and see me," Ethan Yi said and hung up the phone.
There are so many "what the hell" game arcades, where can I find you?
Kai Wei dialed the number again: "Which game arcade?"
"Just the one across from the e-sports stadium." After saying that, he hung up the phone.
At this time, Kai Wei understood that it must be opposite the e-sports stadium in the east of the village where he had submitted his resume online.
When he walked to the door of the game hall, he saw Ethan Yi walking out with a dark face and said to Kai Wei: "You lose."
“The slot machine you are playing so soon is still a fishing game”
"Slot machine, how much money do you have left?"
"Three hundred"
"It's not enough for us to spend. How about we walk back with our heads down, maybe we can find some money."
"You're not afraid of hitting a tree, right? It's full of gambling machines."
"Most of it is gambling, only a few fighting games."
"Is there a King of Fighters 97?" Kai Wei said. The King of Fighters 97 is the most popular fighting game in the country.
“There are two”
"Winning back" Kai Wei picked up Ethan Yi and walked into the game hall confidently.
If those who go to the e-sports hall are all Internet-addicted teenagers, then those who go to the game arcade are lost teenagers. This is a real place where dragons and snakes are mixed. If it's summer, you can see people with tattoos everywhere.
Since 2000, game halls have been gradually replaced by e-sports halls, which has also ushered in a revolution in game halls. Seeing that it is difficult to make income from games alone, the bosses have replaced all game machines with gambling machines. The few pure game machines are placed in crowded corners, and few people are nostalgic.
The two stopped in front of the King of Fighters 97 machine, and Kai Wei whispered a few words to Ethan Yi.
Ethan Yi looked around and said nervously: "You want to be a wolf with nothing?"
